These scenes are oil paintings.  Creating the marble borders is a wonderful technique.  I have painted the edges of each canvas to continue the marble pattern.  These do not require additional framing.

About the Images

It's a fascinating process while creating a marble scene.  When working with oil paints, you will work wet in wet.  It's like sliding the paint around on the canvas to create the variations in the marble.  You would use a very soft badger brush and a delicate touch.  The fine lines are the finishing touch.
